Emergency shutdown at Dushanzi's upstream and downstream plants

According to market sources, PetroChina Dushanzi Petrochemical Corporation has unexpectedly shut its units today after a technical glitch at its No. 1 ethylene cracker.
Based in Xinjiang, China, all the PE and PP plants were affected and productions have been stopped today except for its 300,000 ton/year of HDPE unit (producing pipe grade N3000) which reduced 15% operation rate. The shutdown involved two full density polyethylene plants with production capacity of 600,000 ton/year (new) and 120,000 ton/year (old), a 550,000 ton/year PP plant, and a 1 million ton/year of ethylene cracker. It is expected to remain off-stream for at least a week.
