China's Fujian partially restarted polyolefin plants after emergency shutdown

Market sources reported that Fujian Refining & Petrochemical Company Limited (FREP) has resumed its No. 1 PE unit during last weekend after the plant was forced to shutdown on 15 March due to a technical woe struck its upstream cracker. Meanwhile, no. 2 PE unit and two other PP lines remained offline. The company is attempting to bring these units up by today, 21 March.
Located at Fujian, China, FREP owns two PE lines; each has annual capacity of 400,000 tons/year and two PP units with total capacity of 550,000 tons/year. Its 120,000 tons/year old PP unit is currently operating at a reduced rate.
