Import coal-based PP continue to gain ground in Vietnam

Vietnamese players reported receiving import coal based PP offers at the beginning of the week with fresh hike compared to previous trading session. The offers currently stand at $1050-1060/t CIF Vietnam, LC AS term, which is $50-60/ton higher than last week.  

A trader commented, “We are surprised with this price for coal based PP is not widely used in Vietnam yet. Today, local sellers have also lifted domestic offers for homo-PP to VND27,200,000/t ($1109/t without VAT) including VAT, FD Vietnam, cash term. However, we see buyers are very reluctant in making purchases.”

Meanwhile, in China, demand for homo-PP continues to pick up and limited supply from both local and import suppliers keep the market firm, according to players. Domestic homo-PP gain CNY300-500/t ($46-77/t) in the early trading session today and market is generally monitoring buyer’s respond to decide on further adjustment.
