Honeywell and China's Oriental Energy to build world-scale PDH plants

Market sources reported that during U.S. President Donald Trump's visit to China, Honeywell UOP and Oriental Energy Co Ltd (Dong Hua) have signed a memorandum of understanding on the implementation of UOP’s C3 Oleflex™ units in Oriental Energy’s 5 new propane dehydrogenation (PDH) projects, which convert propane into propylene.

These projects are located along coastal cities, which include Ningbo and Lianyungang, have a combined propylene production capacity of 3 million tons/year. Upon projects completion, Oriental Energy will become the world’s largest on-purpose PDH producer.
