Crude oil prices steady on Tuesday

International benchmarks for oil prices remained mostly stable on Tuesday (22 March) and terrorist attack in Brussels killed 35 people showed little impact on the prices. The market was rather well carried on with supply outages in Nigeria and Iraq, talk among major oil producing nations about an agreement to freeze output and expectations of continued declines in US production. However, analysts believed that the current rally could be capped at the $40/b threshold as this is the level US shales oil producers would bring new rig online.
WTI closed at $41.45/b (-$0.07)
Brent closed at $41.79/b (+$0.25)
