GAIL shutdown PE plant again

GAIL India Limited is forced to shutdown their HDPE/LLDPE swing plant again today after a brief restart on 12 Jan 2016, according to market sources. The plant was reportedly shut on 7 Jan 2016 due to lack of feedstock from its regular supplier – ONGC.
Based in Uttar Pradesh, India, the HDPE/LLDPE swing plant is able to produce 210,000 ton/year. The complex also houses an ethylene cracker with annual capacity up to 500,000 tons/year and two stand-alone HDPE lines with combined capacity of 200,000 tons/year.
Market sources expected that the company might need another one to two weeks to get back to normal operation rate again provided it receives the required feedstock.
