Major Thailand producer increased PP, HDPE prices to Indonesia

According to market sources, a major Thailand producer has announced new PP and HDPE prices to Indonesia on the first trading day of the week with increases compared to the last opening. 

The producer lifted PP offers by $40/t to reach $1150/t for homo-PP yarn and injection, $1170 for PP film and $1210/t for PP block copolymer, CIF Indonesia, LC AS term. Meanwhile, HDPE film, blow moulding and injection cargoes are up $30/t to reach $1280/t with the same term.

A converter commented, “Besides the price hike seen in import market, both local producers have lifted their offers today as well. Normally, orders would surge up when raw material prices on the firming trend, however, this time we see the market is very silent. We have sufficient inventories till mid-May; therefore we are not inrush to made additional purchases. We think market has reached the peak now.”
