Emergency shutdown at China's Sinopec Zhenhai and PetroChina Dushanzi PE plants

Market sources reported that both Sinopec Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Company and PetroChina Dushanzi Petrochemical Corporation has encountered unexpected technical glitches on their PE plants recently whereby the restart schedule could not be ascertained.

The details of the plants involved are as following:

Plant Name: Sinopec Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Company

Plant Capacity: 450,000 tons/year of LLDPE unit

Shutdown Date: 6 February 2018

Plant Name: PetroChina Dushanzi Petrochemical Corporation

Plant Capacity: full density PE unit line 1 and line 2 each with capacity of 300,000 tons/year

Shutdown Date: 7 February 2018
