Emergency shutdown at Chandra Asri's cracker

Chandra Asri Indonesia unexpectedly shutdown their 840,000 ton/year naphtha cracker this morning, 14 Jan 2016. The reason behind the shutdown is unclear. It is also unsure on how long the cracker would remain offline, however, market players are speculating that it might take at least one week for Chandra to resume production. Chandra Asri did not make any comment on the issue.

The cracker restarted operation in Dec 2015 after three month shutdown for de-bottlenecking.
