Indonesia's Chandra Asri is on track to build second petchem plant

In an official statement released on 29 April 2018, PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical announced that it has begun the basic engineering design for the second petrochemical complex and aim to complete by end of the year. 

Marking the achievement of this important milestone, the company has signed six license and engineering design agreement including with Chicago Bridge & Iron Company subsidiary Lummus Technology for the naphtha cracker and butadiene plant, GCT Technology for an aromatics recovery plant, Texplore for a high density polyethylene (HDPE) plant and LyondellBasell for low density polyethylene (LDPE) and polypropylene (PP) plants. 

The project worth USD 4 – 5 billion of investment and the final investment decision would be made by 2020 and once it is done, the market would expect commercial production in 2024.
