Thailand's PTT restarted LDPE, LLDPE lines

According to market sources, Thailand’s PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) has restarted its LDPE line after a 20 days maintenance shutdown since 22 Feb 2016. The 300,000 tons/year plant is currently operating at normal rate, yet the company is clearing backlog before it can offer to the spot market.
Meanwhile, the company has completed maintenance work at the 400,000 tons/year LLDPE plant and planned to bring the line on-stream during the last weekend. Sources added that once the line is restarted, it would produce metallocene grade for the first three weeks of April, and that there will not be normal allocation for LLDPE till end of the month.
The 1 million ton/year ethane cracker is still remained offline and the company reportedly operating its HDPE plant at only 50% capacity at the moment, according to a source close to the company.
