Philippines JG Summit facing technical glitches at PE plant

According to market sources, JG Summit Petrochemical Corporation has experienced some technical glitches at one of its PE unit since last month and the company has not been able to resolve the issue till this week.Based in Batangas, Philippines, the PE unit has a production capacity of 320,000 t/year.

This has resulted in excess ethylene supply and according to a source close to the company, JG Summit has sold approximately 3500 tons of spot cargoes end of April 2016 loading to Northeast Asia due to higher ethylene price level in that region.
