Unexpected shutdown at Daqing's PE unit

According to market sources, Daqing Petrochemical Company has unexpectedly shut its No. 1 full density polyethylene (PE) unit yesterday due to technical glitches.

Located in Daqing, China, the plant has a production capacity of 250,000 ton/year. The unit is expected to remain offstream for about 8 days. Meanwhile it’s 300,000 ton/year No. 2 full density PE unit is still operating at a normal rate, currently producing LLDPE C4 film (7042) grade.
