Japanese naphtha crackers to be taken off-stream in 2016

According to market sources, several naphtha crackers in Japan will be shutdown in 2016 mainly for scheduled maintenance work. Details about these shutdowns are shown in the following table.
Asahi Kasei Chemicals is in the process of scrapping its Mizushima cracker this February 2016. It is reported that the company will gradually demolish the furnace and would complete by April 2016.
Besides, Mitsui Chemical has no specific plan to shutdown the Osaka cracker, however, the company might proceed with the action following the shutdown at derivative plants during the same period.
