ChinaCoal Mengda achieved on-spec olefins output

According to market sources, Inner Mongolia ChinaCoal Mengda New Energy & Chemical Industry Co Ltd (Zhongmei Mengda Chemical) has achieved on-spec olefins output from its dimethyl ether/methanol to olefins (DMTO) unit last weekend.

Located at Inner Mongolia, China, the DMTO plant consists of 1.8 million ton/year of methanol and 600,000 ton/year of olefins units. The company has previously delayed the start up of its downstream PP and PE plants due to water quality issues and it is still unclear on when these lines would be brought to live. Both of the PP and PE unit has annual capacity of 300,000 tons/year.
