Emergency shutdown at PetroChina Dushanzi's PP and PE units

According to market sources, PetroChina Dushanzi Petrochemical Corporation has unexpectedly shut its upstream and downstream units this afternoon due to electricity power failure.

Located at Xinjiang, China, the company has a 300,000 ton/year HDPE unit, two full density polyethylene plants with production capacity of 600,000 ton/year (new) and 120,000 ton/year (old), a 550,000 ton/year PP plant, and a 1 million ton/year of ethylene cracker. It is expected to remain off-stream for 6-7 days.
