Singapore's Shell to restart cracker in July

According to market sources, Shell is planning to bring its naphtha-based cracker back to operation this July after unexpectedly shutdown last December due to corrosion under insulation (CIU).
Experts were initially expected the plant to remain offline for at least six month as the issue is pretty serious. Based in Bukom Island of Singapore, the cracker is able to produce 960,000 tons/year of ethylene, 540,000 tons/year of propylene.
