Taiwan’s Formosa to shut PS plant for maintenance

Formosa Chemical and Fiber Corporation (FCFC) has taken its 180,000 tons/year polystyrene (PS) plant in Mailao off-stream for routine maintenance during mid of March 2019. The shutdown is expected to last for approximately 30 days, sources said.

The estimated production loss as a result of the plant overhaul is around 15,000 tons, which players fear that might curtail regional supply to a certain extent, especially when the manufacturing season is just about the start.
