Thai maker maintain firm stance on PE offers to China

A major Thailand producer has announced fresh PE offers to China at stable to firmer levels compared to last week, according to market players. The producer implemented some $10/t hike on HDPE cargoes while keeping other grades unchanged.

Latest price list from the marker stands at $1220/t for HDPE film and LDPE film, $1230/t for HDPE yarn, $1270/t for LLDPE film and $1240/t for LDPE heavy duty, all on CFR China, LC A/S basis, for late May-beginning of June shipment.

A buyer responded to the new offers saying, “We found these prices are a little above the market acceptance level amid current sluggish demand. There are more competitive cargoes from other origins available, yet still facing difficulties to conclude deals. We prefer to hold wait and see stance as near term outlook is rather weak.”
