Russia’s SIBUR to start commercial production at new PP plant

According to market sources, ZapSibNeftekhim, a plant under SIBUR, has been undergoing trial run at its new PP plant and off-grade cargoes are expected to be available for bidding in the coming weeks.
Based in Tobolsk, Russia, the PP plant has a production capacity of 500,000 tons/year.
Sources informed that 100% of the off-grade PP cargoes from trial run would be allocated to China after 1 May 2019. Meanwhile the company is planning to allocate 50% of the prime grade to China market once the plant reaches stable operating condition.
In addition, the company is planning to bring its new PE plants on the same site to live in July 2019. The plant consists of a 700,000 tons/year HDPE and 800,000 tons/year LLDPE unit.
