China’s Zhejiang Petrochemical to startup new PP, PE plants

According to market sources, Zhejiang Petroleum & Chemical Co.Ltd, also known as Zhejiang Petrochemical Co Ltd (ZPC) is planning to conduct trial production on its new PP, PE plants by June-July this year.

Based in Zhoushan, China, the company has new projects with 3 phases, whereby each phases will consist of at least 1.65 million tons/year of PP and PE. The detailed plant capacity are as following:

Phase I: 450,000 tons/year of LLDPE + 300,000 tons/year of HDPE + 900,000 tons/year of PP

Phase II: 450,000 tons/year of LLDPE + 300,000 tons/year of HDPE + 900,000 tons/year of PP + 400,000 tons/year of LDPE

Phase III: 450,000 tons/year of LLDPE + 300,000 tons/year of HDPE + 900,000 tons/year of PP

A source closed to the company informed that the commercial production or prime grade materials are expected to be achieved within Q4 this year, meanwhile the detailed schedule for Phase II and III are still in discussion and pending for further announcement.
