Indian government extended ADD on imports of PVC from China, USA and Thailand
On 11 June 2019, the Indian Ministry of Finance has notified the market on the extension of the antidumping duties on the import PVC from three main countries, namely China, USA and Thailand for another two months, to 12 August 2019 before determining the next course of action. The extension comes as the previous anti-dumping duties decision supposedly expires on 13 June 2019, five (5) years after it came into effect.
Also in the notification, the country decided to eradicate the antidumping duties on import PVC from Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan and some companies from Taiwan. It is understood that for the case of Taiwan, antidumping duties would only be applicable to China General Plastics Corporation (CGPC) should the company distribute its material to India via Tricon Overseas Inc., USA.
The following table summarizes the companies that continue to face anti-dumping duties in the next two months.
