Indonesia’s Lotte Chemical Titan cuts run rate at LLDPE plant

According to market sources, Indonesia's PT Lotte Chemical Titan Nusantara has cut operating rate at its LLDPE plant by 30% on the back of weak demand and negative netback. 

The unit has an annual capacity of 200,000 tons and it is unclear on when the producer would normalize the run rate. In the meantime, the 250,000 tons/year HDPE line is unaffected by the decision. 

On another note, there have been market talks that PT Lotte Chemical Titan Nusantara might divert from the previous plan to build new PE units on the same site together with the cracker. Instead, the company might explore other polymer options such as PP.
