Thailand's PE offers move softer in China

Market participants reported receiving fresh PE offers from a major Thailand producer at lower levels compared to last week in the face of persistent sluggish buying interest. The maker reportedly cut HDPE prices by $15/ton while LLDPE film sees larger reduction of $40/ton from the last opening.

The latest price list is reported at $1125/t for HDPE film, $1135/t for HDPE yarn and $1180/t for LLDPE film, all based on CFR China, LC AS term.

A distributor commented, “Even after the reduction we see very little buying interest as buyers are expecting further reduction in the near term, in line with the weakening ethylene costs. We are now monitoring market’s reaction before making any further decision.”
