Local PP and PE market in Indonesia witnesses drastic price cuts
On the first trading day of the week, a major local producer in Indonesia has opened fresh PP and PE price list with up to three digits reduction on most PP grades due to slower demand and piling sales pressure.

Players commented that the reduction is among one of the steepest price cuts the producer introduces over the past ten years. Not only buyers are staggered, but most also prefer to wait on the sideline to assess the situation further.
“This is the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak that hit the demand in the nearby Chinese market at the time supply from multiple new plants within the region is emerging. There might be more discounts in the coming days,” a buyer commented.
