Emergency shutdown at China's Ningbo Mitsubishi PTA unit
According to market sources, Ningbo Mitsubishi Chemical Company (NMC) has shut its purified terephthalic acid (PTA) unit today unexpectedly due to technical glitches.
Based in Ningbo, China, the plant is having nameplate capacity of 600,000 ton/year but usually operates at a rate of 700,000 ton/year. It is expected to remain off-stream for 9 days.
