Malaysia and India extended lockdown period to curb COVID-19 outbreak
It is reported that both Malaysian and Indian government has announced another two weeks extension on the nationwide lockdown as these countries escalate the effort to fight the COVID-19 outbreak.
The lockdown in Malaysia would remain in place until 28 April 2020. However, the government is also gradually allowing low-risk sectors to resume business in shorter operating hours to ease the impact on the economy.
In India, the Prime Minister has agreed to extend the lockdown period without specifying the duration. The country’s current 21 days lockdown ends on 14 April.
