According to market sources, PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical has reportedly shut down at least two downstream units following unspecified technical issues at its naphtha cracker late last week. 

The affected units including a 400,000 tons/year LLDPE line and the 340,000 tons/year styrene monomer plantIt is unclear at the moment on how long these lines would remain shut.

Chandra Asri owns a naphtha cracker in Cilegon, Indonesia, which is designed to produce 900,000 tons/year of ethylene and 490,000 tons/year of propylene. There are reports that the cracker has been taken off-stream since 2 May 2020, however, CommoPlast has not been able to confirm the production status of the cracker at the time of this report.
