Local PP and PE prices in Indonesia continue to move higher
Local PP and PE prices in Indonesia continue to move higher

It is reported that a major local producer in Indonesia continues to implement price hike on spot PP and PE prices this week with the support from strengthening local currency against the US dollar. The increases emerge regardless of the diminishing demand condition in this market ahead of the long Ramadan holiday.
The producer’s latest price list and changes compared to last week are shown in the following table:

A number of factories around the capital city of Jakarta are winding down operations rates in preparation for the Ramadan holiday that starts this weekend.
“The increases are mainly driven by the exchange rate and the lower supply condition. We have restocked comfortable cargoes and prefer to wait on the sideline for now. The demand outlook in the post-holiday period remains cloudy given the COVID-19 outbreak in Indonesia,” a buyer added.
