Major Thailand cut PE offers to China

Market players reported to receive fresh PE offers from a major Thailand producer at lower levels where prices reduced by $5/t for HDPE and $10/t for LLDPE compared to last week.

The latest price list is reported at $1120/t for HDPE film, $1130/t for HDPE yarn and $1170/t for LLDPE film, all based on CFR China, LC AS term.

A distributor commented, “We feel that the price level is still high for current market sentiment as recently weaker currency and slower market demand is causing sellers to face difficulties to conclude deals. Meanwhile, we heard that the plants are having some issues and hence our supplier do not have much sales pressures and hence not in rush to reduce price in big range.”
