According to market sources, on 01 June 2016, 11:48pm, there was jump-off on the interlock of olefins plant at Shanghai Secco Petrochemical Co Ltd which caused the emergency discharged of the system material (cracked gas) to the ground flare and resulting in a large fire due to the huge material emissions. The plants have emergency shutdown last night.
Based in Shanghai, China, the company has a 1.09 million ton/year of ethylene cracker, 250,000 ton/year PP unit, a HDPE and LLDPE unit each with 300,000 ton/year of production capacity.
