Domestic PP and PE offers in Indonesia continue to rise
A major local producer in Indonesia has opened a fresh PP and PE price list to domestic buyers with substantial increases from the previous week with support from tight availability.

There have been reports that the producer has been facing production hiccups at one of its LLDPE lines over the past week, curtailing spot availability even further. However, buyers in the capital city of Jakarta are portraying a rather reluctant stance in replenishing fresh PE cargoes due to the plastics bags ban that would come into effect on 1 July 2020.
“In the meantime, the ban is not affecting the Java area. End product demand is increasing following the hike in the energy complex. Our issue is that we are unable to transfer the higher raw material costs to the end products, hence prefer to source alternative parcels at lower costs,” an HDPE bags maker added.
