Maintenance shutdown of Sanman's PTA unit in South Korea

According to market source, Samnam Petrochemical Co Ltd has shut its No. 2 purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant in mid January and expected to remain off-line for 30 days. Based in Yeosu, the plant is able to produce 300,000 ton/year of PTA.

Meanwhile, its No. 1 unit has been quit from operations since 2011, while its No. 3 and No. 4 will be operating at full capacity. The No. 4 PTA unit is also expected to have maintenance shutdown in February for 2 weeks.
