Unexpected shutdown at Thailand PTT's LLDPE and LDPE units

Market sources reported that Thailand's PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) has been forced to undertake emergency shutdown at its LLDPE and LDPE units today due to technical glitches.

Based in Map Ta Phut, Thailand, the company has a 400,000 ton/year LLDPE and a 300,000 ton/year LDPE unit. In addition, its 300,000 HDPE units are currently operating at 60% capacity, a source close the company said.
