Shenhua Xinjiang to startup new coal-based units soon

According to market sources, Shenhua XinJiang Coal-Based New Materials Project has successfully startup its gasifier today and it is expected that its new coal-based PP and PE units shall be come on-stream by mid of July.

Located at Urumqi, China, the company has a 300,000 tons/year coal-based PE unit (2426H grade) and 300,000 tons/year coal-based PP unit (S1003 grade). The plant is designed to produce 1.8 million tons/year methanol. As reported earlier, the start up of the units were forced to postpone from initial schedule in June 2016 due to unexpected technical issues.
