UPDATE: South Korea’s Lotte Chemical restarted the Deasan cracker

Lotte Chemical has reportedly restarted the naphtha cracker in Deasan, South Korea on 7 December 2020 after the unit was taken off-stream in March due to an explosion that injured at least 56 people.
The cracker has an annual capacity of 1.1 million tons/year of ethylene, 550,000 tons/year of propylene, and 150,000 tons of butadiene.
Market sources said that the producers were procuring spot propylene cargoes to feed the downstream PP plant over the past several months.
