Major Taiwan cut PVC offers for July shipment, sold out in India

Market players in Asia reported receiving fresh PVC offers from a major Taiwanese producer for July delivery at $30/ton reduction compared to last month to reach $770/ton to China and Southeast Asia, $830/ton to India, all on CIF, LC AS basis. Export offers stand at $740/ton FOB Taiwan with the same payment term.

It is reported that the producer only has approximate 12,000 metric ton of material to India market this month, which is 60% below the regular allocation for this particular market. For that, the maker reportedly sold out available cargoes to India shortly after the new price announcement. 

A distributor commented, “Our supplier has recently expanded business to Australia, hence quantity for other Asia markets has been adjusted down. This is especially when the producer is planning for maintenance shutdown at VCM and PVC lines in August. We think the market has reached the bottom and prices might find its way up in the coming month.”
