A number of Chinese PP producers are scheduling to carry out maintenance work in 2021, and the preliminary data from CommoPlast showed a heavy concentration of shutdown in the first half of the year.

For the period from February to June 2021, about 13 PP units would be taken offline, resulting in nearly 235,000 tons of production losses. Sources said that local supply is set to tighten in the month of April and May, which potentially support firmer prices.
