India proposed three-stage ban on single used plastic items
Kementerian Lingkungan India mengusulkan tiga fase larangan pada produk plastik sekali pakai mulai September 2021 dalam upaya memerangi polusi plastik di negara itu.
Kementerian membuka pintu selama 60 hari untuk saran / tanggapan dari industri dan bisnis sebelum akan mengeluarkan pemberitahuan akhir.
Tiga tahapan pada proposal itu adalah sebagai berikut:

- Increase the thickness of all plastic bags to 120 micron - Ban all plastic bags with thickness of less than 120 micron |

1 Jan. 2022 |
- Six categories of single-use plastic items will be banned, including earbuds with plastic sticks, plastic flags, ice-cream sticks, plastic sticks for balloons, polystyrene (thermocol) for decoration |

1 Jul. 2022 |
- More single-use plastic items would be prohibited, including plastic plates, glasses, cutlery (plastic forks, spoons, knife, trays), packaging films from sweet boxes, invitation cards, cigarette packets, plastic/PVC banners less than 100 micron and stirrers. |
