China's Tianjin LG Bohai cut vinyls production rate

According to market sources, Tianjin LG Bohai Chemical Co Ltd has cut its vinyls plants to 70% since two weeks ago.

Based in Tianjin, China, the company has a vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) and a PVC plant each with a production capacity of 400,000 ton/year. According to a source closed to the company, the production rate of PVC is going to resume normal soon, while the operations of VCM plant will be resume within two weeks period.

Meanwhile, the company also planning to shut its VCM unit in August for scheduled turnaround. It is expected to remain off-stream for a week.
