Oil climbed higher on reopening EU economy
International benchmarks for crude oil traded about 1% higher on Monday, 17 May 2021 on positive expectations over the reopening of the European economy after months of lockdown, shrugging off the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Asia.
Brent closed at $69.46/barrel, 75 cents or 1.08% higher.
WTI closed at $66.27/barrel, 90 cents or 1.36% higher.
