Weak demand from other downstream sectors coupled with seemingly comfortable supply in the US is attributed to the price decision.
This is the second time in 2022 the total stock fell below the 500,000 tons mark. The last time the inventories at Sinopec and CNPC’s warehouses were this depleted was on 21 January 2022.
The credit situation in Vietnam started to improve, which allows importers to resume purchasing US dollar-dominated cargoes.
Customers have completed pre-holiday replenishment and started to go off for the New Year holiday. Trading sentiment is expected to decline further in the final trading day of the year.
