In the PP block copolymer sector, import offers from two key South Korean producers fell below the $1250/ton threshold for the first time since August 2021 given the persistently weak demand from the home appliance and automotive sector.
Demand for HDPE bags is especially weak. Several converters informed CommoPlast of not receiving new PO as the customers do not believe the raw material market has reached the bottom.

The domestic spot market continues to gallop lower this week regardless of the stabilising import offers. However, sellers seem to have found the acceptance levels for homo-PP yarn grade as a brief dive resulted in a satisfactory sales result.
