Vietnam’s Nghi Son to restart PP plant after a technical glitch

[CommoPlast] - It is reported that Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical is planning to bring its PP plant in central Vietnam back online on 17 October 2021 after an unexpected technical glitch forced the company to shut the unit down on 7 October. 

The 400,000 tons/year line has just completed the annual maintenance schedule less than a month ago before the incident took place. 

A couple of distributors decided to suspend all spot offerings this week, causing a more tightened local supply condition. At the time of this report, spot homo-PP yarn and injection traded in domestic Vietnam market in the range of VND34,000,000 – 35,000,000/ton including VAT ($1360 – 1400/ton excluding VAT), data from CommoPlast showed.
