Thailand’s PTT Global Chemical has reportedly shut its LLDPE plant in Map Tai Phut complex this week after encountering an unexpected technical issue, according to market sources. 

At the time of this report, it is unclear on the restart schedule for the 400,000 tons/year LLDPE line. 

Meanwhile, the company has also shut its mPE production line due to additive shortage, market players added. At the time of this report, the maker continues to deplete the remaining spot stocks at $1340/ton and $1390/ton depending on the grade in China market, which is about $40/ton higher than the previous week.
