Several key petrochemical producers in India have entered the maintenance shutdown season between April and May 2022, which is expected to curtail local and export supply substantially. 

Among the makers, HMEL has been operating at reduced rates throughout March and is scheduled to go offline in May. At the time of the report, the producer is running at 40% rates. 

Meanwhile, IOCL is currently facing unspecified issues at the upstream Fluidized catalytic cracking unit (FCCU). Given the feedstock supply disruption, the producer plans to take the PP and PE units offline this 25 April. It is unclear on the restart schedule.
