According to market sources, Zhongjing Petrochemical has postponed the start-up at its new PP plant to the second half of July 2022 from the initial plan in June, for which the producer did not provide any explanation.

The new plant has an annual output of 1.2 million tons per annum using LyondellBasell’s 5th Generation Spheripol technology.

Market sources speculated that the unfavourable market condition at the moment could be one of the reasons Zhongjing decided to bring the giant unit online later than sooner.

At the moment, Zhongjing operates two existing PP lines with a nameplate capacity of 1 million tons/year and a 750,000 tons/year propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit based in Fujian, China.
