EIA: US commercial crude inventories rose unexpectedly last week

According to the latest data from the Energy Information Agency, the commercial crude inventories in the US unexpectedly rose 215,000 barrels in the week ending 23 September 2022 to 430.6 million barrels. 

Industry experts expected a drawdown of 443000 barrels.

Refineries in the country operated at 90.6% of their operable capacity last week, down 3% from the week before. 

Meanwhile, gasoline stocks fell 2.4 million barrels to 212.2 million barrels during the week.
