Official data: Chinese manufacturing activities fell further in November

Chinese manufacturing and service activities shrank further in November as the COVID-19 outbreak that prompted strict control measures hurted the economy. Official manufacturing purchasing managers' index (PMI) fell to 48.0 points from 49.2 in October, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics.

The non-manufacturing PMI that shows the health of the service and construction activities also dropped 2 percentage points from the previous month to 46.7. 

Data below the 50-point mark indicates a contraction.

Meanwhile, the sub-index for new orders fell to 42.3 in November from 42.8 the month before. 

New export orders, recovered slightly to 46.1 but were still in the contraction territory.
