Domestic producer continues to cut PP, PE offers in Indonesia
Sources said that the reductions in PP prices are very much expected considering the fact that import offers from non-dutiable origins have already breached far below the $1000/ton threshold since the previous week.
A major local producer in Indonesia once again decided to cut spot PP and PE offers at the beginning of the week under pressure from the stubbornly weak demand condition and the relentless softening import offers. This is the fourth week in a row the producer reduces offers.

Sources said that the reductions in PP prices are very much expected considering the fact that import offers from non-dutiable origins have already breached far below the $1000/ton threshold since the previous week. “Besides, traders have been aggressively pushing forward selling cargoes at much lower levels. Everyone is trying to secure deals instead of holding on to the stocks,” added, a market source.
On the contrary, purchasing activities for HDPE and LLDPE film remain relatively stable albeit buyers prefer to source just small quantities at a time.
